What could happen if churches across the South West united together for a weekend to worship and pray, serve our communities, and invite the region to Try Church?…
PRAY. Gather in Plymouth at Methodist Central Hall with churches across the South West for an evening of prayer, worship and seeking to build God’s Kingdom Come.
SERVE. On the Saturday, we spread out and serve our local communities. This year we are encouraging churches to organise events themselves to bless their local communities. Have a chat with the church you're part of about what you could be doing in your local community.
INVITE. Invite your family and friends to Try Church at your local church and other churches throughout the South West.
In 2017 two churches in Plymouth, St Matts and Mutley Baptist, got together for a night of united worship & prayer - 300 people gathered and God turned up in power.
In 2018 they felt God nudging them to gather together again to worship and pray but to cast the net wider and invite five other churches in Plymouth to join them. They all agreed, all 700 tickets quickly sold, and God poured out his power and presence.
In 2019 they felt God prompting them to cast the net even wider and gather people from across the region not only to worship and pray but then to spend a day serving their neighbours and local communities and invite them to try church. More than 1,500 people filled Plymouth Pavilions for a night of worship and prayer before spilling out into the streets over the rest of that weekend to serve local communities and invite them to church.
After taking a break over the Covid pandemic, in 2022, we partnered again with 5 local churches in Plymouth with a Kingdom Come night of worship and prayer before spilling out into our communities for our Serve Day and invited neighbours and friends to Try Church - it was super fun!
We'd love to invite you to join us for Love South West 23 on 19th-21st May 2023 as we seek to bless the region. Check out the rest of the website for further details.
